SUNDAY SCHOOL has begun. Children will be dismissed from worship during the closing worship and are asked to go directly to their school. Snacks will be served to grades P-5 in their classrooms. I first taught Sunday School way back when I was in high school. More recently, I’ve been teaching preschool and Kindergarten for the past three years. I’ve been assisting the Pastors in this School for the past 5 years.
The real power in Sunday School teaching is not methods, important as it is to have the best of these; nor in equipment, valuable as this is–but in the teacher’s own spiritual life. “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit,” is the divine revealing of the secret of power in all Christian work. It is the aim of these simple chapters to put emphasis upon some of the vital elements in the Sunday School teacher’s life and work.
BUILD FAITH: God is also opening doors for us into the local community. With many schools in our area, we are being offered many opportunities to go where the young people are. We want to share with our schools and local community with the Good News of Jesus Christ. As you take your place within the life of our church family, you will also be joining a fun and friendly staff team. As we head towards our vision, we will hold dear to our values.
These values help shape how we will behave as we move forward. They are Compassion, Creativity, Generosity and Joy. The town of Luwero is a popular place to live with good links. The church is within the Pentecost move of God and has a family friendly, informal feel. We long to become the church God wants us to be, and the Children’s Minister will play an important part in making our vision a reality. Do you sense God is calling you to minister here – if so we would love to hear from you!The value and importance of children’s ministry in the local church simply can’t be overestimated.
