Our Belief

Faith Statement – Ref: KJV

The Scriptures
The writings of the Old and New Testaments are the very Word of God, written by man and verbally inspired in all parts. Therefore, wholy without error as originally given of God and altogether sufficient in themselves, the Scriptures are our only infallible rule of faith and practice.

Deu 9:10  And the LORD delivered unto me two tables of stone written with the finger of God; and on them was written according to all the words, which the LORD spake with you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly.

2Ti_3:16  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

There is only one living and true God. The eternal God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit with distinct personal attributes yet worshiped equally as true God.

Exo_3:14  And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

Psa_83:18  That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth

Exo_6:3  And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.

God the Father
God as Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures and over human history according to His purpose and will. He has revealed Himself through His Son.

Isa 9:6  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Deu_10:14  Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the LORD’S thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is.

God the Son
Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His Incarnation as Jesus Christ, He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He is fully God and fully man. He made provision for redemption of man through his obedient death on the cross.

Isa_7:14  Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Mat_1:23  Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

God the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He points men and women to Christ, He convicts of sin, of righteousness and of judgment and He empowers the believer and the church for the work God has prepared in advance for them to do.

Gen 1:2  And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Joh_15:26  But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

Man was the direct creation of God, in His own image and is the crowning work of His creation. By his free choice man sinned and brought sin into the human race. Man unable to save himself needs a Savior.

Gen 1:26  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Psa 8:4  What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
Psa 8:5  For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.

Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man received only by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is the free gift of God neither earned nor secured in part or in whole by any goodness or work of man. Apart from Christ there is no possible salvation.

Joh 3:3  Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Rom 10:10  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Marriage is a one flesh union, between one man and one woman, in life. It uniquely reflects Christ’s relationship with the church. Marriage also serves as the foundational unit of a stable society.

Gen 2:23  And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

Gen 2:24  Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Gen 2:25  And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

Pro_18:22  Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.

Godly Living
As proper evidence and fruit of our salvation Christians should keep the Word of God, seek the things of God, walk as Christ walked and accept the responsibility and duty of sharing the gospel with the community and the world.

Mar 16:16  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Gal 5:22  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Gal 5:23  Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Gal 5:24  And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Gal 5:25  If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Satan was originally created a holy and perfect being, but through pride and unlawful ambition rebelled against God thus becoming depraved in character. He is the great Adversary of God and His people and his powers are supernaturally great, but strictly limited by the permissive will of God. He was defeated and judged at the Cross, and therefore his final doom is certain and through the cross we are able to resist and overcome him.

Eze 28:13  Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

Eze 28:14  Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

Eze 28:15  Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

The Church
The New Testament Church is the body of Christ, which includes all believers in Christ’s work of salvation.  This one spiritual Body should unite together in local churches for worship, prayer, fellowship, teaching, united testimony, sharing the gospel and the observance of the ordinances of our Lord. Each local church is autonomous.

Mat_16:18  And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Act_14:23  And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.

Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in moving water. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in the crucified, buried and risen Savior. It further symbolizes the believer’s death to sin, the burial of the old life and the resurrection to walk in a new life with Christ. The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic and commemorative act whereby believers commemorate the death of Christ and anticipate His second coming.

Mat 28:19  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Mat 28:20  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

God is the source of all blessings. Christians should joyfully desire to respond to those blessings through the giving of their time, talents and material possessions to God’s purposes.

Gen_12:3  And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Last Things
God in His own time and way will bring the world to its appropriate end.  Jesus’ return from Heaven will be personal, visible, and glorious—a Blessed Hope. The dead will be raised and Christ will judge all men in righteousness. The righteous will receive their reward and live forever in the presence of the Lord in heaven. The unrighteous will be placed in hell for all eternity.
